At St Germans School our intent in Modern Foreign languages is to foster pupils’ curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. Learning a foreign language is a liberation from insularity and provides an opening to other cultures. Children learn to understand and use the spoken language and to recognise and write some words and phrases through speaking and listening, role play, video, songs and games. They also learn about life in other countries and their cultural differences. Cross curricular links are made when possible with other subjects.
